AKTIVITAS ANTIFUNGI SHAMPO DAN KRIM EKSTRAK ETANOLIK BATANG BROTOWALI TERHADAP Pityrosporum ovale DAN Trichophyton mentagrohytes

Abstrak

ABSTRAK

 

Brotowali dengan kandungan alkaloid, flavonoid, dan terpenoid diketahui memiliki aktivitas antifungi. Tujuan  penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kadar hambat minimum ekstrak etanolik  batang Brotowali dan aktivitas antifungi  shampo dan krim ekstrak etanolik   batang Brotowali terhadap P.ovale dan T.mentagrohytes. Batang Brotowali dimaserasi dengan etanol 70%, kemudian ekstrak etanolik batang brotowali diuji aktivitas antifungi untuk menentukan konsentrasi ekstrak yang akan digunakan dalam formulasi shampoo dan krim. Formula terbaik  shampo diuji aktivitas terhadap P. ovale  dengan metode cakram dan formula terbaik krim diuji aktivitas terhadap T. mentagrohytes menggunakan metode sumuran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan KHM ekstrak etanolik  batang Brotowali terhadap P. ovale adalah 900 ppm dan terhadap T.mentagrohytes 3,9 ppm. Formula shampo terbaik  memiliki zona hambat antifungi kategori kuat 13,43+3,18 mm  dengan persen daya hambat 69, 12% . Formula krim terbaik memiliki zona hambat antifungi kategori sedang 8,42+0,38 mm dengan persen daya hambat 62,74%.

ABSTRACT

 

Brotowali are known to have flavonoid, alcaloid, and terpenoid which have antifungal activity. This study aimed to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration ethanolic extract  Brotowali  stem and know the antifungal activity of shampoo and cream of ethanolic extract Brotowali stem to P.ovale and T.mentagrohytes. Brotowali stem macerated with 70% ethanol and test antifungal activity of ethanolic extract Brotowali stem to determine concentration used in shampoos and creams formula. The best shampoo formula tested antifungal activity against P.ovale and cream against T. mentagrohytes with compared method. The results showed  MIC of ethanolic extract  Brotowali stem against P.ovale was 900 ppm and against T. mentagrohytes was 3.9 ppm. The best shampoo formula has strong inhibitory zone antifungal category 13.43 + 3.18 mm and percent inhibition of 69, 12%. The best cream formula has currently inhibitory zone  antifungal category was 8.42 + 0.38 mm and percent inhibition of 62.74%.
